Blender Version
Broken: 3.1.2 (sorry it's been a while i don't use blender for editing video so I just noticed this bug on version 3.1.2)
Worked: blender-3.0.1-candidate+v30.9600f36cfcba-linux.x86_64-release

Short description of error

Keyframes are not preserved if metastrips are duplicated(default shortcut: CTRL+D) or normal strips are cutted(default shortcut: K)

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Normal strips

  • Have any kind of strip with keyframe
  • Cut Strip
  • Keyframe are only applied to the selected strip after the cut

Metastrips

  • Have any kind of metastrips with strip with keyframes in
  • Cut Strip
  • Keyframe are not applied to the new duplicated metastrip

I created a .blend file with the sample strips so can be tested and reproduce the bug as described above

Hi, thanks for the report. Both issues has been fixed already on master branch. see:
T96699: Regression: Cutting a strip with keyframes in the VSE deletes the keyframes from the original (left) strip.
T96595: VSE Regression: Duplicating grouped strips does not maintain F-Curve keyframes
Please test again in latest development builds (3.2): https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
