Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19044-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 471.11

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.2, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-31 17:40, hash: rBcc66d1020c3b

Short description of error
When I try to render to a video file and I chose lossless in the output quality setting, it results in a file
that is completly black and has no preview in windows. Nor does it play in VLC media player or the normal windows
video viewer. As soon as I chose a lower setting such as perceptually lossless it works as expected.

I have tested this with both the mp4 and AVI containers. They both give similiar results, the same is true for Cycles vs Eevee.
furthermore I have tried multiple codec that include this output quality setting and when set to lossless they preduce the same result as H.264.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
as far as I am aware this works with every scene. For my testing I used the default setup, set my frame count to 10
so rendering was faster, and rendered to a mp4 file using the h.264 codec with the quality output set to lossless.

I can't replicate this. Can you attach one of the test videos you created that are not working?
Does your video have sound? Which sound encoding setting have you set?
Maybe similar to T80791.

I am sorry, and I should have looked better for I did not find the other post before posting mine. The other post is correct as I can see the video play correctly in VSE like described.

In the future I will look beter, may I find another bug. I guess you should remove this post if you can
