Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT

Blender Version
Broken: 3.12
Worked: 3.0

When working with the UDIM tiles, it loads all the correct number of tiles but repeats the loaded texture onto each tile. Renaming textures into different schemes (I.E. "1001_Basecolor" to "Basecolor.1001") did not work.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
From standard startup file, go to the image editor window. Create a new UDIM tile texture. It doesn't matter if it's 32-bit float, or not. go to the "N-Menu," and into the "image" tab. select a UDIM tile in a list. It should open the exact amount required, but fail to display any other tile but the one selected.

This is a duplicate of T96984. The fix for that issue in review now should address this. For now, there's 2 ways to get around this:

  • Open the UDIM tile set directly using Image -> Open instead of using that folder button you clicked
  • Do what you do here, but manually enter the "<UDIM>" token in the file name there. In your case, after you load in BaseColor_1001.png, manually correct the filename to BaseColor_<UDIM>.png
