Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • add mesh
  • add hair
  • change render engine to cycles
  • render (hair curves are not showing in the rendered image)

It's not a bug.
In the attached file, the hair strands have no radius.
This makes them too thin to render.

There is a design still being discussed to set a default radius, see T68981: New curves object type.
You can use Geometry Nodes, to set a radius for the strands in this case.
