Probably caused by bdb57541475f

Short description of error
LuxCore shader nodes are exposed in search menus of other node systems (Geometry Nodes, Shader, Compositor).

Not sure if this is on the commit or the LuxCore addon. Close this if this should fixed by the addon side since it is third-party addon.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Have installed LuxCoreRender addon.
  • Go to the editor of one of the node systems (Geometry Nodes, Shader, Compositor, Texture).
  • Add -> Search and type names for LuxCoreRender shader nodes. (Blender is a good one because there's a lot of texture nodes named with Blender.)
  • You can actually add those nodes to the nodegraph but they do not work or outright crash Blender when you try to connect it.

HI, thanks for the report. I'm unable to redo this in current master f97728248ec95f4db5b0152dd3ba770135656e39
Are you using any add-on?

Oh, after looking at more closely, they are LuxCore shader nodes, NOT Texture nodes. Somehow, probably after bdb57541475f, LuxCore shader nodes are exposed in search menus of all node systems. Not sure if this is on the commit or the LuxCore addon. I'll modify the report in a bit.

Sun Kim (persun) renamed this task from Texture Node nodes are exposed in search menus of other node systems to LuxCore nodes are exposed in search menus of other node systems.Sep 21 2022, 6:57 AM

Thanks for the update. Add-on is not maintained and shipped with Blender. I would suggest you to report bug on their tracker: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendLuxCore/issues

Not sure if this is on the commit or the LuxCore addon

Last commit was made in "May" so some changes on Blender side might have caused this (likely the commit you've linked)
I'm closing this task for now. Add-on dev can submit the report if changes in blender codebase has affected their add-on.
