Description

The same object being viewed in edit mode in different versions of blender, with x-Ray active using alpha at value 1, is viewed differently.

I would like to know how to apply the same effect from old files to the new one as I didn't find anything in the settings to change this.

The photos contain two meshes, one high poly that I made the sculpture and the other low poly that is in edit mode.

Old Blender file visualization with x-ray on.

New Blender file visualization with x-ray on.

Both are using the same configuration, but in older file (probably before 2.8), I can see the vertices behind the sculpture and with the fade out effect

Strange, I tried in another workspace and x-ray mode works.
Its just the file and Layout workspace in which issue is replicable. I'm not sure if this would be consider as a bug.
And thanks for these files.

The easiest way I can think of is to click the gear in the upper right of the filebrowser, and un-check Load UI.

this could be a bug, because v3d->overlay.backwire_opacity is 0 in this file. It is only set in versioning to 0.5f and there is no way to set this value from UI. Seems to be possible to set via python though. @Antônio Froz (Fofuxo) do you use any addons? Can you describe how this happened?

@Richard Antalik (ISS) I don't know exactly how it happened, this is a very old file and it works this way, but at that time I was starting in Blender and used many add-ons, there were some retopology ones that changed the interface a lot, like retopoflow. But I can't say when this happen.

But it would be interesting to add this by default in Blender, as it helps a lot when making manual retopology.

Thanks for information, if this was caused by retopoflow, it seems they have fixed the issue since property is not changed there. In any case this would have to be reported to addon developers, so will close this report.

For user feedback and feature requests I would recommend to check https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Communication/Contact#User_Feedback_and_Requests. Here we handle only bugs.
