Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected) latest

Short description of error
linked duplicates dont show or save, whenever I link duplicate and save when I open again only the last duplicate show
starting a new file doesn't have that issue

I have found that the linked duplicates are not deleted but in fact snap back to the position of the original duplicate
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).
duplicating any asset of the main room would reproduce the error

I found the solution I had clear keyframes on

Hi, thanks for the report. Not a bug as far as I can tell. Both will share animation data since you're using same data-block to create new object.
In this case you're overwriting existing keyframes values of original object by moving the duplicate object.
We also have similar report: T96643: Auto keyframing causes Duplicate Linked object to change location
