Thanks for the report. Please upload .blend file in which crash is reproducible

Occasionally started to work another project with photoscanned rock objects (imported fbx files), changed the material color space Filmic sRGB) and started to crash again. Here are the attachments for the report.

Apparently if you set the materials image texture's color space to Filmic sRGB the Asset Browser goes nuts. It's 100% confirmed on Mac. I don't know about Windows version.

There's a good chance this is fixed as part of T101969 ({ea571ddc29e4e7be441a9b58bef50190a4a35c04}). That bug dealt with a similar issue with large textures and the Filmic sRGB colorspace.

That fix will be part of the LTS release but it's unclear if it will make it for 3.3.2 or the version after. For now, can you try using a 3.4 Beta build just to see if things work for you: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/

Thanks Jesse, will test 3.4 Alpha and let you know how it works.

@Levy Bergman (levybergman) hi, have you checked in 3.4 beta yet? Does it still trigger the crash?

I tried to replicate the crash in provided file but I'm unable to (tested in 3.3, 3.5)
@Richard Antalik (ISS) can you reproduce in MacOS?

Richard Antalik (ISS) added a comment.Nov 25 2022, 8:09 PM

I wasn't able to reproduce crash in 3.3.1
