Description

System Information
Operating system: win10pro
Graphics card: 2080ti, 1080ti

Blender Version
Broken: 3.3
Worked: x

Short description of error

If I add a loop cut (no center) to a model that already has a shape key
The added loop moves to the center according to the shape key

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Add loopcut to default cube
  • Add two shapekeys
  • select key 1 and move a face away
  • select basis key and add loopcut on other side of moving area
  • Enable wireframe from overlays panel and change key 1 value (notice recently added vertices also moves)

This seems to be the same as T96681: Adding vertices when Basis Shapekey is active prevents changes to the Basis from affecting other keys.

Please have a look at that report (includes two workarounds).
Will merge reports (and of course feel free to comment again if this turns out to not be a duplicate).
